That's six more than we had. For the third year in a row we had zero kids. We do have several new families with young ones that have moved to our street in the last year but none went door to door.

It's just as well as it was cold, windy and wet. The village to our south held a "Trunk-N-Treat" in the church parking lot. I think this type of event and the malls Trick-or-Treat nights are a good thing. Plus, I don't mind not having to get up every few minutes to answer the door.

Mine was transmission fluid mixed with kerosene (diesel in a pinch).

I don't understand how TF all of USPS, FedEx, and UPS can be so horrifically incapable of their jobs. Yeah, I get it logistics were challenging as it was even before COVID began but this is ridiculous.

I ordered food for Haru last week, it was shipped via 2-day delivery on Wednesday with FedEx. FedEx said it would arrive Friday. It never made it onto the truck. Then Saturday and Sunday it had scans saying it was on the truck and out for delivery but never came.

Then today it was out for delivery and supposedly left at my door, but I've been here all day and nothing was ever left outside. Apartment from office hasn't gotten anything with my name on it either.

The only possibilities are:

1. deliveryman left it at the wrong unit (how on earth this happens when boxes usually have like 2 labels and will even have an apartment number Sharpie'd onto it once or twice) or building.
2. dropped it off somewhere completely different.
3. left it so quietly I never heard him even come up the steps, which are pretty noisy when people go up/down them, and then someone came by and stole it.

I think DHL or Ontrac these days actually has deliverymen take a picture of where they left the package, and usually it is a wide enough shot to get the unit number on the door. That's handy because at least if the package is left at my complex but the wrong unit, I can go hunt it down. But none of the big three require this.

Call the place you ordered it from and tell them what happened. We had that happen once and Chewy resent the package. You are the store's customer, and they are FedEx's customer.

Yeah, I contacted Chewy about it a few minutes ago. They've been great when a couple other random issues have come up with other stuff.

Fedex is the worst. I don't think I have ever had anything for work or personal that showed up on time with them, except when we get our parts shipments from Honda, those are always on time.

I have had to explain this to our Fedex regional rep. Customer's don't get pissed at Fedex, they get pissed at us. So it is not worth it even if they are cheaper and I have to resend an order, and then get charged to have a shipment recalled, then fight to have the shipping charges reversed. Most shipping companies have waved their guaranteed shipment policies. It used to be if even a standard ground shipment was late I could get a credit and credit the customer back.

had less this year, but was still busy--there was basically a conga line from 5-6, and then 6:45-7. there were only 4-5 'rolling parent's following their kids down the street in their cars, which is an all-time low. went through 1-1/2 bags of random aldi candy.

disappointed, i mistakenly gave out the snickers and m&m's first, leaving myself with the smarties and nerds i would've rather gotten rid of...

fortunately most of the kids started from the south and went north. it's a good thing because the neighbor to the north always hands out full size candy bars. so the kids were at least respectful for the 'fail size' stuff i was giving out. when they go more north-to-south, there's a lot of disappointed kids when they get that one itty bitty little snickers bar...

To get get consistent deliveries, I suggest you use the mrs humfrz technique. She orders so many things for our granddaughters, to be delivered to our house, that every delivery service knows the route to our house by heart, because each one comes here at least three times a day.

Meh, put some gas in it and kick it, it'll start. I'm sure the ounce of oil in that thing is still good.
