It still boggles my mind how so many people run liquid cpu coolers in their daily rigs. I don’t trust AIOs. I know heat pipes won’t leak. Can’t say that about AIOs. They’re more expensive than a good air cooler and they don’t perform any better once temps have settled. Is there something I don’t get about AIO’s?

Both my wife and I have been running AIO liquid cooling for almost 4 years now with no problems. My wife's computer is running almost 24/7.

Noise.
A good AIO/Liquid setup can keep the computer cooler with less fan RPM and therefore less noise.
Also dependent on case an AIO may be the only way to properly cool a CPU.

I understand that AIOs are very reliable, but the chance of one leaking is still higher than a heatpipe leaking. The engineer in me didn’t like the risk comparison table in my head.

As for noise I can see that, but at a certain level does it even matter? Personally I can’t imagine the pump being much quieter than my Noctua NH-U12A. I’ve only ever heard it when running cinebench. When gaming the GPU fans are much louder than the CPU cooler and they’re not even loud.

Some people are super anal about noise for some reason. Thoe ones that arent gaming but want their tower to make no noise at all.

So then you get your full custom loop pc as quiet as a mouse, only to get annoyed by coil whine?

Mmmmm.... I don't think I'm dying that much. According to game I have completed 43.9% and 5.5% of Frozen Wilds.

I just didn't want to hang a giant chunk of metal cantilevered off my CPU. Plus it looked cool and cleans up the interior a bit.

The mass of some of the cpu coolers has gone way over the top. Sticking a 1kg or more mass times its height? off a motherboard does not feel me with confidence.

Uninstalled HZD at 128 hours. Came to a boss fight I couldn't be bothered with. At this point in time I don't know if I feel inclined to revisit it again.

The weirdest thing about Days Gone is the flashlight. One turns on the flashlight and the beam appears at what ever it is you're looking at but there is no source for the light. If you look at the character from the front the beam appears behind him.The protagonist isn't holding a flashlight nor wearing a headlight, the beam just magically appears.
