Based on the listing I configured this on the Cadillac site, and it came out to $75,740 with all the same options. That doesn't account for this being one of the "Launch Editions" so not sure if that adds any real value to it.

I think it would be safe to say that it will easily hit $80K. The last hours are always hectic.

I hate some dealership sales ppl… 3 dealerships are fighting for my money & currently Toyota is winning (put down refundable deposit). Kia & other Toyota dealership have been stupid… like texting me “Are you interested me silver? It’s same as gray.” or “I have x trim. You won’t see the difference in the feature.” I specifically stated that I’m looking for specific color & trim. If you can’t meet those, don’t call me.

I like cars. I generally like new things.
I hate car shopping. I'm still getting emails from the Hyundai dealer that I briefly talked to in 2013 about a genesis coupe 3.8 track...

It's one thing to offer alternatives. It's entirely another thing to hound people for 7 more years to buy something they simply just asked if it was still available.
Of course then there was my huberger experience, where I simply asked them to have any wrb manual limited for me for a month, so I could make plans to get it(they had something like 16 on the lot), I'd wire whatever they needed for a down payment to show I was serious, and they outright refused the guaranteed sale..

Not sure why they wouldn't take your sale unless they already had buyers for them all.

I've learned since that most salespeople don't care about long term relationships. Car sales is so high pressure/turnover, all that matters is this months numbers. Guaranteeing a sale in a month doesn't matter because they might not be there anymore.

Edit: Look it this way. When you were looking for Hakone Edi, sales reps keep sending you a message telling you Camry is available or Neptune color is close to Hakone. Even then, you can tell yourself they’re trying to be nice & giving you an alternative option? Last edited by ichitaka05; 10-24-2021 at 08:44 AM. |

there's been more than a few comments from actual sales staff from across the internet that people that know what they want are the exception, not the rule. most of them say that people that know what they want are more of a hassle, which also has to do with what i said just above-- all that matters is selling what they have because it counts towards this months sales numbers.
the majority of people decide they want a new car, go to the dealer, and see what's there. if they had a blue camry, but all that's in stock is a purple avalon, most people are perfectly ok with it. most people these days shop more on payment than color/brand/features anymore.

When I contact these 3 dealerships, I’ve clearly stated specific model, color & trim or I don’t want anything else PLUS stated willing to put an order w deposit & willing to wait several months for it. Clearly sales rep see that this “Karen” won’t take alternative option. lol One sales rep heard me loud & clear, check the inventory, but didn’t see any available, so ordered one & took my money for deposit. Process only took 5~10mins. Painless & afterward he prob went on helping easier customer without any hiccup. FYI I’ve contacted these 3 dealership cuz 1 dealership website claim had one. 1 claim “Its coming soon”. 1 claim available few days ago. Not like I didn’t search & went out of random dealership to see they have it. |

My wife walked out of a Toyota dealer who repeatedly tried to sell her a fleet car as new in the one absolute "no way" color. Even after stating such, as well as a willingness to wait on an order. Started as 6mo or more wait (in late 2017) and magically became a much shorter wait soon... Then the sales manager stepped in. Never seen my wife so mad, probably partially because she really wanted that car. Got a Chevy instead - hopefully it lasts, not a favorite but it does the job.
I sorta hope it all goes mostly special order. There are times you can't wait but... The pressure to pay for things you don't want is so incredibly frustrating.
