I did the same thing to a co-worker named Chris about 8 years ago. He was out for an undisclosed medical procedure and I told everyone in our manufacturing facility that he was getting sex-reassignment surgery and that she wanted everyone to call her Christina when she gets back. It was good for a couple laughs.
