Feels like the Civic would make sense.

Option 1: 1.5T from the SI and FWD and maybe the 10-speed or the CVT. Priced at under $30K... Basically a Civic but if you want something more stylish. Manual? With FWD it would be possible.

Option 2: 2.0T from the Type-R (or the standard TLX 2.0 - not type r) + SH-AWD + 10-speed for $40~50K depending on features. No manual. Not sure they can fit a manual with the AWD system.

SH-AWD has previously been offered on an Acura with 6sp manual. There's no technical or packaging reason they couldn't do it. It would be all cost considerations.

Is there a car currently available in both 2 and 4 door form? (or 3 and 5 door hatches)

That wasn't uncommon back in the day...can't think of any now.

Yaris is 3 door only in GR form - Not really the same car
Mercs are not hatches in Saloon or Coupe - Only Estate

Yeah, it looks huge. Looks kind of like a Tesla Model S wannabe. I really don’t see the point of it when the Civic hatch already exists and is now quite a large car. Anyway, no coupe, no care.

oh man that is looking more and more like a lightly reskinned current gen civic lol, a little underwhelming in that regard.

then again the TLX i think has good proportions and it also kind of looks like they're trying to reskin it with a tweaked TLX body.
