Yeah, Doug's scores are famously inconsistent. I bet it just has a lot to do with how he felt about it that day rather than any kind of objective measured test.

Yeah I would not place too much weight on the scores. They are usually pretty inconsistent.

Here are a couple of screenshots from Doug's video.
Looks like the "ceiling" lining is a lot different now.
He's a tall guy (6'++?) and looks like he has a lot of headroom left when driving.

Hopefully the 2nd gen has more headroom than the 1st gen, I always lacked ~0.5" in the 1st gen (I'm 6'4" + helmet).

He used to always say 6'3" but then someone did the math basic on some sketchy geometry and known heights of vehicles in his videos and concluded 6'4" so he sometimes says 6'4" as a nod to that video...

Yeah his doug scores make no sense nearly all the time. I seen him give praise and low scores, give praise and high scores, middling praise and low scores, high praise and low scores....i dunno if he actually bases his scores on anything. The wierd thing is in the end the overall score seems to fall pretty well in line where it should be vs its competition.

"acceleration is fine, its not fast, its not slow so it gets 1 out of 10"
"acceleration is quick, its faster than it should be and doesnt feel slow it gets a 3 out of 10"
"acceleration is leasurely....it takes awhile to get up to speed so it gets a 2 out of 10"
"Acceleration is insane....my jaw just stays open the whole time and its probably one of the fastest things i ever felt and it gets an 8 out of 10"

Subjective DougScore aside, his acceleration score is actually objective, based on 0 to 60 time (http://www.dougdemuro.com/dougscore, under Acceleration section). The BRZ's 4 means 5.6 to 6 seconds, while the S2000's 5 means 5.1 to 5.5 seconds, which I think is accurate for both cars' official specs (vs. road tests that usually yield different times, slower and faster).

Makes sense. Apparently Toyota measures 0-60 from idle. Most manufacturers do not.

One of the taller reviewers of either the BRZ or the GR86 (I think it was the Toyota) mentioned that because you can lower the seat further in the new car it felt like he had more helmeted headroom than in the ‘20. For whatever that’s worth.

There is 0.1 inch less headroom in the front, and 1.5 inches less in the back.
