As long as it fills in the dip like first gen, I'll be happy. I'm not expecting peak power to gain much if anything.

That's what makes that dyno graph seem very odd or incorrect. It's like the header got him most of the gains and then a tune barely had much left to add. |

For instance my car last time looked a lot more like this torque curve, it peaked before the dip. Of course the dip was ~1.5 thousand revs long ledge to ledge, quite deep, and started from a much lower baseline. |

Used the screenshot from Blighty to create the attached graph. I for one love to be lazy and luggggg the engine and WOT (yes it is wrong and not you shouldn't do it) to overtake. so i was curious what the location of the torque dip is with respect to the freeway speeds and gears. seems like at 65 to 70mph, you are likely "upslope" and close to "1st torque peak" and can ride that wave till 80mph. which should make for a "sporty drive". if you want to lose your license, then you should downshift to 4th and be right on the "2nd torque peak" which is nice and broad and juicy. In gen1, you would likely already be slightly past the "1st torque peak" (assume ~3200rpm) at above speeds and going into the valley so..... Last edited by Jianlun; 09-18-2021 at 04:16 AM. |

Hahahah, thanks! The executive summary is, the torque peak for the new gen is higher up the rpm range than the old/current model, such that at normal (legal) freeway speeds, you have yet to reach the torque peak in 6th gear. And you can still enjoy the torque while lugging the engine in 6th up beyond legal speeds. whereas in the old/current gen, if you lug in 6th gear, you are more or less past the torque peak and heading into the torque dip valley.

I have a Hail Mary hope that header fitment will somehow be the same and the catless headers for the FA24D will have larger runners making for great SC FA20 headers.lol

According to the you tube Auto-(dodgy)translate, he hit the speed limiter. he seemed to be in 5th gear and speed limiter kicked in at 184kph indicated.
not sure why he couldn't just run in 4th like normal people. |
