Might appeal to the gaming crowd...

It looks like Bomberman's choice of truck!

Really, because looking out my window I see at least 6 close to $70K trucks (4 F250s and 2 Rapters).

Those trucks are a price bracket lower then Rivian is capable of hitting right now, even with 96 month loans, I'm failing to see the connection

It's trying to pull GLS and X7 buyers, just like Tesla went after S-class and M5 with the model S and not Taurus and Malibus.

I'm sure Ford appreciates not having their sales poached given their $500m investment in Rivian.

Don't forget the Rivian qualifies for the Fed tax credit for some time, lowering the total price quite a bit while ICE trucks are selling at a premium or folks are getting back what they paid for 2 year old trucks right now.

In the end, I hope Rivian sells hundreds of thousands of their trucks, the more brands we have available to us the better we all are.

Nah, car companies have always had a side gig.

Ford and Subaru have built airplanes
Chrysler built rockets (they built the first stage of the Saturn V)
Ford built Mission Control for the moon race (through their Philco division).
GM basically invented the diesel-electric train engine (later sold to Caterpillar)
Buick built the original Hellcat (a WWII tank) and Chrysler built the M1 tank.
Toyota builds prefab housing in Japan.
GM built the first mechanical heart.
Of course most of them have built tractors.
Mitsubishi builds a little bit of everything.

I'm sure there are lots of other examples.

I started to watch a review and lost interest when the spare wheel was shown. One has to lift it up and out of the tray as opposed to winding it down from underneath.
