Looks like the US got a bigger engine F22C1 from 2004? up to 2157cc and down on power but up on torque.
237bhp[177kw]
162Ib-ft[220Nm]
Combined fuel consumption at 20mpg US[12L/100km] is over 50% more than the 86 which is interesting.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_S2000

Also interesting is the price in Oz.

S2000 2009 $73,590
GT 86 2012 $29,990

Mind you, the Oz$ was only worth US$0.64 at the beginning of 2009 and currently it's worth about US$1.05 That would bring the S2000 down to $45,000 which sounds more realistic comparing the two today.
Should be comparing the Japanese Yen but it wont be far off.

The FRS can't go 0-60 in 5.9 secs. That site is wrong and doesn't even cite a source for that time. The fastest FRS 0-60 time is 6.2s, the slowest is 7.3s and the average is ~6.5s. Cars that can go 0-60 in 5.9 secs don't take 14.7-15.3 secs to run a 1/4 mile.

Also interestingly, you can pickup a low K's late model S2K for <25k AUD even less than 20k. granted no warrenty and it's not brand new, but if you buy the right one you can get some extra fruit for your money also.

The 86 GT model is about 34k AUD drive away.

If I could get a late model low km S2000 for less than $20,000 or even less than $25,000 I would be very tempted to cancel the GTS 86 and get it.
On Carsales.Com there are loads for sale but all at least 10 years old and over 100,000km for under $25,000.

For me late model low km means something like 2009 with 30,000 - 55,000km which is $40,000 to $44,000 on Red Book.

Show me where I can get one for half that and I'll be very grateful and have a look but I think you're dreaming.

So Don, what you think the stock injectors will be good to? I'm guessing 270whp?

Can someone explain how lag from throttle application to the engine producing the power is affected by the intake length? I have no experience on this but I was under the impression that the length directly affects lag?

This looks like a long route from turbo thru the inter cooler to the inlet? Is it actually long in relation to other cars? How's the lag driving the car?

Don't think there is. If I remember correctly (he stated it a while back) he is seeing full boost by 2500rpm. Again, this is only at 4psi. Not sure if it will get a little worse once at 6-8?

That's not the lag I mean as that's just how long it takes to build boost, the lag between pressing the throttle and the engine responding is what I'm thinking about. How sharp is the throttle response I guess is what I'm saying?

I know what your saying. Don will have to chime in on that. I still don't like these electronic throttles. Such a delay compared to my old S2K. Im wondering if with the tuning its much sharper as well..

There was a source that dropped first at 5k rpm and hit 5.9 sec
