TILTL ---
....how bacon is packaged such that a 1 lb package of bacon has exactly one pound of bacon in it, with the last piece of bacon sometimes sliced razor thin just to get up to that pound... ?

They trim the ends to get it to target weight. Easier then trying to cut one or two pieces really thin.

Makes sense... but doesn't explain why, almost always, the last piece cut is so often much thicker or thinner than the rest of the pieces... ?

That is how a local place did it. I don't understand why some of them just don't sell it at weight. The labor to get it down to 1lb can't be worth it.

I am sure the big brand companies are. They probably cut a block out at 1.xx weight to account for blade thickness and loss from the cut, then have an automated slicer. All the plants I was in were smaller companies.

I was helping one of my assistants study for her first biochem quiz this morning. I could figure out pH of dilutions really easily but forgot inverses of a negative log. Why? It’s easier replacing that information with pathways of other information.
Being the hirsute slobbering beast I am, the dog and I are probably not much different in affording energy to basic operations than higher order less used functions. Does doing rods on an FI fa20 completely mitigate boost problems? |

TILTL how to calculate cut lengths on leaf springs while taking into account arch and eye's. I usually have to draw it out and it takes a lot of time and isn't always perfect.
