Its inoffensive, not as stubby looking as the current one and overall...seems decent enough. It does match the Viziv performance concept pretty good.
That lower black cladding and around the wheel wells are a bit weird though.
Gives off an outbackish vibe. Mayhaps they should be body coloured....or gone like in the Levorg.

Those blue renders look spot on, except the real car doesnt look as long as the renders portray, so the real car looks a little more properly proportioned.

And it could be the angle, but that front overhang doesnt look nearly as long as on the levorg...looks alot more proper and helps with its proportioned look.

Not big on the orange for it at all... Definitely makes it look more like their standard utility vehicle. In general, that's what the cues are showing. Back is quite ugly, front is ok and maybe an improvement over the current one. It's just VERY utility looking now and about as far off from old WRX's as it could possibly be.

Maybe that's what they were going for? To bring a larger attraction to the same kind of people that might be looking for an Outback or a Crosstrek, or their competitors.

Used to be into them as a fun DD vehicle with a little power. But I don't think I could ever see myself getting this one. Besides, the BRZ has spoiled me so much that I would see anything like this as a significant downgrade... but that's just me.

Why upgrade the engine to a 2.4l as they’ve only gone from 197kw to 202kw. Should’ve been 220kw minimum, disappointing. WTF did they do with the extra 400cc in the motor, this is a similar upgrade in power as what the twin saw from + ‘17 models, an extra 5kw etc. they did that without adding 400cc. What a waste.

Probably motor consolidation. The STI is rumored to have 400hp or thereabouts so all they'd need to do is up the boost.

They should have added like 25hp more or something though instead of keeping it roughly the same amount as the FA20.....

Im actualy curious if the STI would look quite close to the Viziv performance concept....

The previous gen car only had subtle cues to its concept and was toned WAY down and never ended up looking anywhere near as aggresive even in STI form.

This one actually looks close to the Viziv concept, but without the aggression.

Let’s hope the STI does, but I won’t hold my breath. The FA24 in the twin added around that hp and it’s not turbo either. They’ve basically put a larger displacement turbo engine in with pretty much the same power, I just don’t get it.

The front of the WRX does not match the rear. Is like they ran out of ideas and copied the new BRZ/ rear. The front end does look fresh, but that rear man, atrocious.

Anybody who actually still believes the STI is gonna go from 300hp to 400hp when the new WRX got a 3hp bump is certifiably insane.

The new STI will be 320-330hp, guaranteed. MAYBE (but probably not) 350 at most. But 400? Lol. Not a chance. The people spouting that trash are the same people waiting for the 300hp turbo AWD BRZ STI

Similar to the 86/BRZ, the displacement is about improving drivability. It sounds like the engine provides more response down low and maintains a wide torque band. You also have to consider global emissions getting much more strict. While they could dump more fuel into the engine, that would mean a more expensive emissions system. The aftermarket will have to handle that.

Also, yes, it is about consolidating motors as they work toward a fully EV/Hybrid lineup, which means only having 1 or 2 ICE engines by 2030.

The only way the STI has 400 hp is if it is a hybrid. They could do it, but I'm skeptical if that happens this time around. Maybe next refresh. 320~330 is probably correct.

I am really, really not a fan of that ugly ass grey plastic. I didn't like it when they slapped it onto the lips of the front of the bumper in the previous generation and I hate it even worse they just lined the whole damn car with it. It looks simply put, kind of trashy and cheap. I like the profile and the back end but why the hell ain't it painted? The only color I'd get it in if I were on the market is if it the paint matched the grey but otherwise it's already kind of a dealbreaker for me.

*I skimmed the video because I'm on mobile and the net is spotty so if that's covered my bad.

This is pretty bad. Seems like a joke really. But that's cool, would have taken a lot for me to be more interested in this than a BRZ/GR86.

It's laughably bad. Plastic cladding which I hate since it degrades/fades in sunlight. Civic tail lights. The highest trim the GT with adaptive dampers and seats is automatic only. 3 HP gain. The 11.6 touch screen with AC controls hidden in there. The base model's screen looks like a nintendo 2DS.

I don't mind the black on the bottom of the bumpers/side skirts, but I'm not a fan of it going around the wheel arches.

Taillights of the 2015-2021 were extremely boring so as plain as the 2022's are I think they are an improvement, the black bar with the Subaru logo jutting in it is pretty bad though.

If the torque curve is much broader than the current gen like they say I'm happy with this model. Current one is so unresponsive below 3k rpm, then punches you in the back for a second, then just dies off.
