At least in BRZ, yes there is an amp on the limited 8 speaker package. It's back in the trunk.

Do you know that? Or just guessing by what you have heard? And if you do have this info, are we able to add a subwoofer to the limited? I am hoping it is the same as the 2020 sub, but the part says it doesn't work with the 2022. But that could just be an oversight.

Toyota USA / Canada haven't released full official package details and pricing just yet so nobody truly KNOWS official details but all the reviewers have said the higher trim comes with the removable subwoofer in the back. I suspect that will likely be offered to the base model as an adder.

Y'all need to chill and wait till Toyota USA/Canada release full deets.

Wat. I don’t think they have. They’ve said 6 speaker vs 8 speaker with an amp.

I did not know this, but I hope it's true. When I saw the pictures of the sub I figured it would just be an available option for both trims.

Thats the first of many I've read that the subwoofer is removable.

My sources also seem to confirm that it is removable (subwoofer, NOT speaker) but no one has advised pricing.

Optional. The way I read the earlier post made it sound that all premiums came with it. It will probably be an updated version of the kicker sub option offered on the old car.

Yes, I do know this for Subaru. Not for Toyota. No option for an additional subwoofer. Again, just for Subaru. Can't speak for Toyota.

Thanks. I wonder if we would be able to use the Toyota sub. Hmm.

Savagegeese just dropped his GR86 review for Patreons. Over 28 minutes long and lots of great info and impressions. Mentions that it’s better in every way than the first gen from a driving dynamics standpoint.

Overall he said he doesn’t find it as fun on the street as a ND2 Miata, but that it is a much much better track car in stock form. Just needs better breaks in that regard.

I’m guessing we’re about to see quite a few other reviews popping up soon.

Dyno from savagegeese

Niiiiiice.

209 at the wheels, 173 lbft. That's less than a 10% loss indicating more power at the crank than advertised (similar to the other GR products) - the dyno looks more in line with what we see in the in car image as far as general plot.

Was done at King Motorsports Unlimited

They note that in comparison on their dyno the OG 86 was 162/132.

I’m curious what he means by less fun. Like I’d agree top down, a Miata is likely more fun and is probably hard to beat. Guess I’ll have to wait since I’m a cheap SOB
