Well you definitely did come across like a guy who recently got promoted to Group C HPDE and now thinks he's a professional.
Brembos are definitely not necessary for track days. They're not even necessary for sprint races. Good set of pads and a better fluid will do just fine. |

The adults on this forum that regularly track the car and push the vehicle close to it's limits need/want bigger brakes. If you think otherwise you obviously haven't driven the BRZ fast and long enough on a track. For clarification...what pads and fluid will let the BRZ not experience brake fade on the back stretch of Road Atlanta while at the same time giving you full confidence to brake late while going the fastest possible? ETA: you know what you're right; Brembos aren't necessary for track days because people who take track days seriously will buy an AP racing kit which is leaps and bound better performing than the factory performance package brakes |

I am at Road Atlanta several times a year. Never got brake fade on OEM Brembos running Ferodo DS1.11 or DS3.12 and Castrol SRF.

For reference, GLTC cars and SCCA T4 cars run basic stock calipers. Again, no need to be crappy to other people on here. |

Definitely enough hate out there already, no need to be an a-hole to other enthusiasts on here. Everyone will have differing opinions based on their own personal experiences on the track. In the end, time will tell, by this time next year all the answers will be out there. So no spreading anger and hate lol, be kind to each other, love cars, and enjoy life!!!

People who....I don't know, live in the Atlanta area probably go to road Atlanta, Atlanta Motorsports Park, and Atlanta Motor Speedway regularly. Nothing like doing 130+ crossing the finish line of AMS and braking hard on stock brakes to make the turn in, lol. |

Whole point of this thread was complaining about no Brembos. I've never had the pleasure to drive a performance package car with good pads, fluid, and some Ti shims. I'm sure they're great alternative to an AP kit, and I'm going to wait a year or two to hopefully see Brembos as a facty option....perhaps slotted this generation? |

for anyone interested in HPDE the best move is get the base model and put the parts on yourself. there will be BBKs for less competitive drivers and AP/sprint kits for more competitive drivers.
besides replacing calipers, rotors, pads on a new car isnt much of a chore - and you can sell your nearly new OEM stuffs off and get some moneys back. |

That having been said, the stock '13 calipers with good pads and fluid won't fade on street tires over a 20-25 minute HPDE session. Not at Road Atlanta, not at AMP, not at Road America, not at VIR, not at Mid Ohio, not at NCM.... I'm happy for you that you've progressed beyond novice HPDE classes in the Atlanta area. The response was to your comment mocking someone who made an educated and legitimate comment. Brembos definitely are not necessary for HPDE. Although I would highly recommend better pads and fluid to anyone taking their car to a race track. |

What's your stock caliper/rotor BRZ times at AMS and Road Atlanta? Video? I'll wait. Why are you putting a bigger brake kit on your 2022 "almost immediately"? They're "not necessary". For an amateur- yes. They are not necessary. That's why I assumed that poster was group D |

You're making me laugh over here calling other people amateurs because you graduated from novice class in HPDE. I had no idea you were a professional, so I take back everything I said. Clearly in the presence of greatness here. At the end of the day, it's totally fine to disagree with someone and offer up a differing opinion. Just don't need to be a butthead about it. Especially if you're going to use lines like "The adults here..." |
