I am disappointed that there are only 3 actual colors on this car. Everything else is grayscale. I do think Halo and Pavement look pretty good, no judgement or anything like that. BUT I think this car deserves to have a bright orange or neon green or something like that.

Tom's colors look fantastic and I wish I could order in one of those colors. Even the gray color from Tom's renders looks better to my eye than the 2 more silvery options from Toyota.

Out of the stock colors, Neptune and (sigh) Track bRed are the only colors that aren't boring. (to me at least, I concede that color is 100% subjective)

VS Tom's

I would 100% rock that orange.

It is a photoshop, but it was made by Tom's Racing, a tuning shop in Japan.

https://www.tomsracing.co.jp/english/

EDIT: more than just a tuning shop apparently,
https://www.tomsracing.co.jp/english/company/history/

I just like the colors from the pictures they made.

Also, they did make an orange car, not sure about the other colors.

19:08 in this video you can see it.

You just need to picture the front bumper being different.

Not a super big fan of the BRZ look but it looks pretty good in the Grey. I think this will end up being my color on the GR86 unless I can wait until specials series colors.

You have the option to order a factory color and then do a wrap of whatever color you like.

True story.

Real talk though, I am at my maximum responsible budget just to buy one of these (I'm a poor), and wider wheels/tires are ahead of the color in priority. Sooo it would be a while before I could save enough to get a quality wrap on it.

It's not like I hate the factory colors, even the monochrome ones look good on such a good looking car to begin with. If I had a halo or pavement one I doubt I would be motivated enough to spend the money to get it wrapped.

I'm just tired of 90% of all the cars on the road being black white and silver. If it were a $500 option to get orange, I'd do it.

I don't disagree and companies like BMW, Porsche (and even Chevy's C8) give their customers an option to pay a premium for a non-standard color. On my BMW's, I was partial to Space Gray so I'm kind of glad that Pavement is not an up-charge!

i've considered wraps, main problem being that they generally are only guaranteed to come back off for 5-7 years, and cost around 1-2k fully installed. not to mention that by 5-6 years, most wraps are starting to pull/crack on the hard corners anyways....

my brz is 7 years old already. had i wrapped it, it'd mean this year it would need to be re-done to maintain the freshness.

i quite prefer paint...

Truth. Car makers use these colours because they are ‘timeless, conservative, non offensive’ and thus sell well, however. Brighter and more outlandish colours are seen as a bit trendy and at risk of dating quickly or alienating some buyers thus potentially lowering resale values. But sportscars should be different, the buyer profile are often looking for something that stands out from the crowd.

I suspect they are holding back some brighter colours like yellow and orange for some future special editions, like the first gen. Give it a couple years and I reckon you will have a much brighter special edition colour option or two.

Or you could just remove the wrap and be left with like new paint on a 7 year old car.

Halo white for sure, I love black/white contrasts and I think it makes the body lines pop out nicely, love the look of dark tints on white cars. Also the fact that you can rock whatever color wheels with it.

Neptune Blue is what will likely push me from a BRZ to the GR86.

Hopefully the audio on the Premium trim version isn't terrible like it was on my '15 Limited BRZ.

You could’ve copy and pasted anybody’s earlier comments to save time because that’s been said before. Lol. I feel you though

Ah lolol didn't read through it all but yeah that's prob the general consensus of people that like white cars

Might consider black too depending on the paint quality but it's such a nightmare to keep clean but looks hella aggressive
