Somehow this blue looks spectacular in this trim with the lighting.

Agreed, I like the ZD8 STI lip kit much better than for the ZC6

Overall the design is very appealing but there are 2 specific fails for me. The first is that obnoxious shark-fin antenna on the roof, it really spoils the smooth silhouette of the car. The second is the decision to go the cheap route on their IP display panel choice, using 2 smaller panels with a very noticeable gap in between them rather than one large panel. I thought they would have learned their lesson from the ugly way they implemented panels in the first-gen car, but no....

Hey Sport-Tech, have you narrowed down which car you're purchasing yet?

My 2013 has no panels aside from the aftermarket head unit. And that display can be switched off while still operating the stereo.

The aftermarket sharkfin I installed in 2013 looks thicker and more rounded and I'd tend to favour the OEM unit which was thinner and less sculpted looking.

What did they do, enlarge the shark fin? That can be switched out the procedure to remove the OEM unit was well documented and straightforward. There will be some options in the aftermarket although model specific options not so much since the ZN6 has had an OEM fin since 2014 iirc.

It is good to see those videos from Japan with images not from the floor height, but from the angle you will actually see the car.

The lip for new is really good, the side skit makes some aesthetics impact but do not protect from cones.

I am leaning towards BRZ WRB with lip kit (visually, I lke the GR86 more, but I bet the BRZ will have a handling that I like more, point and go type as gen 1.5).

I'm talking about the display panel in the IP - the one showing the torque curve etc. The way that extended into part of the central tach area just looked cheap to me, it worked against the overall design of the IP with its 3 circular areas.

I'd rather have an old-fashioned rod antenna or windshield-embedded type but I guess for the satellite radio they need this sharkfin. Not a huge deal, I'd probably get used to it.

As to car it's between this, the new Z, and (less likely) the upcoming Golf R. Awaiting reviews and availability of test drives.

Thats just the track mode gauge setup though, the regular modes look normal.

In the meantime, iirc you drive a Tiburon. How's that?

LOL still plugging along although it has recently started shedding a drop or two of oil a day from somewhere. Only 66,000 km on the odo (I don't commute to work) so I'll only replace it when I find something that I really like. Two things about the Tib I will be reluctant to give up: low weight (2560 lbs) which makes it feel fairly light on its feet at moderate Gs despite having terminal understeer, and the great visibility its tall (by current standards) greenhouse affords. Oh and the surprisingly superb seats, maybe better than those in the twins.

https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymake/Subaru2022.shtml

2022 BRZ
Auto- 21/30/25
6MT - 20/27/22

2020 BRZ
Auto - 24/33/27
6MT - 21/29/24
Ts - 20/27/23

As always, EPA testing is not indicative of actual numbers. I typically hit the higher end of the 6MT numbers in my car, which in 2013 was rated 21/29/24 for the 6MT. I think most people would say they see around 30 in normal mixed driving, beating EPA numbers.

If its the same as the GR86 then the embargo is lifted tomorrow, not today as some people thought.
