I have quite the metabolism but I went from 165 pounds at the start of 2020 to 181 pounds a few months ago. I'm 5'11 so my BMI was always in check. Within the last year or so my cholesterol went out of whack and
I am doing what I can to lose weight. I figured eliminating an empty 1800 calories a day is a good place to start.

So far the first thing that has changed in the last 10 days is I get more than 4 hours of sleep a night

Lol I'm 5'11 and trying to get back down to 180lb...

I dropped 1-2 cans of coke per day about a month and a half ago and didn't change much else. Lost 12 lb so far.

That's impressive. I don't think you live that far from me. Maybe we can meet up at a McDonalds and drink free water from courtesy cups reminiscing about the glory days of high fructose corn syrup.

I actually blame the unavailability of Mountain Dew throwback for my weight gain. My doctor agrees.

TIL: If you sneeze while hitting the engine start/stop button in a BRZ and accidentally double press it, the car will absolutely attempt to start while still spinning down from being shut off. It... sounded worse than it probably was. Hopefully.

I absolutely detest pushbutton start. Horrible to not have direct control of the starter motor.

I've sort of gotten used to them after having them on the past 4 cars. Also the first time I've done something that stupid with one. In the theme of the thread, I somewhat recently found this out about Mercedes that I thought was pretty nifty: http://www.mercedesmedic.com/start-m...d-key-battery/

I could probably have saved my other engine if I didn't have push button start.

Did you notice something immediately? Unable to abort the start sequence?

Yea, not a fan either, particularly when there isn't also a keyed start (which I don't know how many have).

My son ran into this issue last week with their Honda Pilot. His wife's key fob died in a "drowning accident" in a restaurant, and couldn't start the car because the pushbutton start wouldn't work, and there is no keyed start as a backup. He had to leave work, travel across town and take the backup key to her.

Well, to be fair, you can do this same thing with a key as well, although it's a little harder.

Yeah. Engine was suddenly down on power exiting a corner, looked and saw oil pressure drop out. Couldn't shut it off while coasting to a safe place on track, I had to go about 80-100 yards. Started knocking about half way, rod let go with only 10 yards or less to where I was trying to stop.

Unfortunately, it's the way of the future because, while completely unnecessary, it has become one of the must-haves for manufacturers to keep up with each other. I truly hope that my FRS is the last car I ever own. We'll see. Need to stock up on spare parts as much as possible.
