Naw, it's been in the 80s last couple days. Saturday night we had thunder showers with flash flood warnings. We got like an inch in just a few minutes. Really came down.I

Right now it is 72°f with 85% humidity. Weird.

According to the 3 and 5 year old, this is a dog house.

Sometimes firewood is a whole lot more than meets the eye

Isn't that the best! I love re-experiencing childhood imagination with my grandkids.

We used to get scraps like that when I was a kid, and I built all sorts of things with it all. We didn't have a fireplace, it was for the building. Loved having that. Maybe that's why I keep scraps now.

Yep, I remember when I was a kid, after my father and I would take a load of grain into the mill in town, I would ask him to stop behind the appliance/hardware store and we would pick up a truck load of lightly constructed wooden shipping crates from appliances.

Then I would make all kinds of stuff like forts to play in.

When my kids were young I would take my old truck into town and pick up the cardboard shipping boxes, so they could build forts in the basement.

ahhhh...... yes, the good ol days when kids could entertain themselves with a bunch of discarded boxes -

When I was young my dad had a dodge rampage--if you don't know, look it up. A little K-car based unibody truck.

Anyways, I distinctly remember finding 2 refrigerator boxes somewhere with him. On the way home, a gust from a truck going the opposite way blew both of the boxes out of the back and into traffic. I remember The moment a car hit and obliterated one of the boxes, and I cried the whole way home like someone had just put down my favorite dog.

So now I'm always sure to strap my cargo down
