When my father was in his 90's, I bought him a couple of nice canes. One was solid oak with a brass handle. The other one was some sort of special Italian wood. His comment was "well, I hope I will never need them". My brother commented "no Dad, you don't need them, you can just continue walking down the isles of the grocery store hanging onto the shelves - ".

PS - how are you doing over there with all the heat and forest fire smoke we have been sending your way?

They sure do. We're going to (finally) be grandparents in a few months, too. A great feeling. Congrats, Humfrz.

Congrats to you, too, Tcoat, and the statement re/ Humfrz geneology was just my usual typical attempt at humor that doesn't translate well in text. I had hoped the " " would do the trick.

In all seriousness, there IS resemblance in the eyes and face. Humfrz has better legs, of course.

How screwed am I. This is what happens when you embrace wild lives matter. Hit a random big rock evading a rabbit on the way to work yesterday.

Well, that sucks. In my case though, the rabbit would be the one with the injury. I follow the rule taught to me when learning how to ride motorcycles, if you can eat it in one sitting, run over it, otherwise dodge it.

I'll go slightly bigger in a car. Maybe up to one meal for a family of four.

I think it was just instinct to evade whatever was on the road, there’s a lot of dogs and civilians in the mornings, an occasional outdoor cat. There are no sidewalk curves, but random big rocks sitting outside people’s homes, I just happened to evade that animal at the very rare few section of the road with a rock close to it. Anywhere else I would’ve just driven slightly into someone’s front yard.

I already ordered a new wheel because im afraid there might be damage more damage than meets the eye. I might drive it on local roads but no highway until I get the new wheel installed. How safe do you think it would be to drive with that damage?
