Yea, that was why I was asking where it was failing, I was heading in that direction.

I know you thanked me but you never said if you tried to shut everything off in auto startup.

Surprised to see that most new Alienware Aurora 12 models can no longer be sold in California and other states that adopted their mandates.

"This product cannot be shipped to the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Vermont or Washington due to power consumption regulations adopted by those states. Any orders placed that are bound for those states will be canceled."

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/cty/...ra-r12-desktop

Guess CA wants to save what's left of dwindling electricity supplies for EV's with a target date of stopping all sales of gas and diesel powered vehicles by 2035.

Tech Jesus confirmed that Alienware is absolute trash these days. Stay away.

Instead of banning them, bureaucrats dropped the ball by not inventing a hefty tax penalty benefitting governments like the gas guzzler tax.

According to this it's because computers keeps sucking more and more power and the worlds energy output wont keep up apparently.

Still a bit nuts that a pc with something as power efficient as a 3060ti can't be shipped to certain states due to regulations. I'm sure this applies to other OEMs as well.

Once again proving California seriously goes after the most minute and pointless pieces to a far grander problem!

Many (most) houses built these days in the US are designed horribly for any kind of passive cooling. I'd much prefer not running the A/C but it just isn't an option. I think we'll start to see more distributed grid become relevant rather than reduction measures being successful in the long run.

It's a pretty large debate, but I doubt many people living in their own homes truly need AC, it's not a life or death situation. The only people that actually require AC would be those that live in apartment buildings that are unable to utilize any kind of air flow turning every unit into a sauna.
