interesting. i thought my local oval, at least before it was shut down, required the race cars to run straight water to avoid the environmental damage whenever they wrecked.

The parade was this morning. It was actually pretty cool. Everything from kids with decorated bikes, to tanks (we had two tanks), to stage coaches, to rodeo queens on horses, to classic cars.... Hell, we even had an Elvis impersonator singing on a flatbed. Man I love small town.

I wish I could have taken more pics, but tough staying in your staying area. Here is a pic of my truck, and a pic looking up and down the line in staging.

In my bike racing days, if you were water cooled you had to run straight water. Bikes are even less forgiving of anti-freeze on the track than cars. They allowed the use of Water Wetter and most water cooled guys used it.

camping this weekend.

IL 57 was an absolute nightmare. i don't normally get scared to drive, but i was definitely scared last night...

IL 57 and i-80 merge in such a way that 57 has on ramps on BOTH sides of the 2 lane road. which leads to horrible extended backups from 4 lanes becoming 2.

in the process, i watched 3 people come to a dead stop, get out, and offer to fight the person trying to merge in/around them, and 2 other people that would wildly serve at any merging-lane-blockers...

traffic finally merged, but then no one wanted to observe fast/slow lane discipline, and then clogged up the road behind 2 people that wanted to do 50mph side by side. for 20 miles..

people are their own worst enemy.

I drove to NH and did not have that experience. Only got cut off twice. The inevitable line in the left lane was going 60mph in a 65 though.

But yes, aggressive and selfish people are just stupid.

I might get in trouble but that made me laugh.

A lot of antifreezes sold have corrosion inhibitors. It’s likely to prevent warranty claims from corrosion due to all the dissimilar metals.

Saw two Nova convertibles yesterday as well.
Guess they only come off the dry storage racks for the Fourth weekend.

Saw two Fox body Mustangs as well. None at all for months previously.

There was every kind of car imaginable. They have a giant car show in memorial park after the parade. 100s of cars come out of storage.

I don't mind heading east or south, further away from Chicago. Usually a relaxing drive. And I'm used to the 294 toll road. Something about paying for the road access keeps out the majority of idiots.
