The OE grease is crap. I've mentioned the specified grease in here a dozen times so I feel pretty bad about that. Maybe someday...

I was thinking about a bronze pivot too! Figured I'd try a more traditional gray molybdenum disulfide grease first. I can't say how well it has held because covid WFH disrupted my driving pattern. Seems fine, though.

Every time you use your clutch, some dust is created. That dust is then swirled at high velocities by a bunch of rpms of the engine. This is why you see a gritty mass on parts where grease was applied when someone is replacing a clutch for the second time because the dust sticks to the grease. From what I've seen, it looks like there is no grease applied from the factory. It might sound crazy, but you might want to put it together dry.

It's not entirely crazy. I've considered it for the quill because we have that molded plastic over the aluminum. The fork pivots are another story. Those need lube for sure.
