Foggy windshield?
When it's wet out the outside of my windshield fogs up real bad. The defroster does nothing since it's on the outside. Even if the rain has basically stopped, I have to run the wipers pretty fast just to keep it unfogged. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I HAVE THIS TOO!
I had been debating whether or not it'd be worth making a thread since it was probably just me experiencing the exact ambient conditions to cause this. Interestingly enough we live in the same general area though. Anyways, yeah this exterior fog on the windshield is the most frustrating thing. I swear I tried every air setting to get rid of it but nothing works except the wipers. And it comes back nearly instantly.

Yay we are not alone! haha. Ya it's crazy...all cars around me have their wipers off and no issue and I'm sitting there with my wipers on crazy fast just to see anything out the front. Very strange!

Apply any Rain X yet? Seems to help with both rain and exterior fogging, and also cures wiper chatter on older cars.
I also use Invisible Glass on the inside and out (before RainXing the outside). |

I've noticed this as well, except usually one pass of the wipers clear em right up.

Its condensation from running air that is too cold for defrosting. It cools the outside and attracts moisture just like a beer bottle, up the temp. Common sense?

That's what I noticed. Increase the temp and the fog goes away.

I experienced this once as well. It would refog like 4 seconds after the wipers passed. It was the night right after I had Opticoat applied (to the windows as well).
So far it hasnt happened again but I havent driven in the rain again...yet.. |

I didn't notice it on mine until after I had applied RainX but I think that was a coincidence. Every car I've ever owned has done this to some extent so I really didn't think about it as an "issue". So far in the FRS it hasn't been bad enough to matter. Guess we'll see as time progresses

Here in Houston, TX in happens to me too, but only when I park the car outside. What I have notice is that I will turn the front defrost on, set the temp. at 71 degrees and it will start to go away once the the car warms up to normal temps. and goes away quicker as I am driving, (compared to being stationary).
BUT it may all be a coincidence, or it may not. Hope this helps. |

Circulate the air from inside the car and not have it draw it in from outside
