I do. I don't think that if something grows on you over time, that automatically means that you are justifying anything. I thought the '06 WRXs were ugly as sin with the way they made that Cylon looking front grill, but somewhere along the way,I ended up liking it,a lot. I never bought one either,so I didn't have to justify a purchase,it just started to appeal to me for whatever reason.

Now I'm not a fan of the looks this new 86 at all. I'll never buy one so I won't have to justify anything.I just feel like people's minds change for whatever reason(s),and while some people will find a way to justify liking something that they initially didn't,I don't think that's case even half of the time.

I am still on the fence... It needs to be better enough mechanically to offset how I feel on how it looks for me to buy it, I suppose...

Subaru called me today. They want my BRZ. Not happening, but I wonder what the offer would be. Don’t really want the new one, plus all the work to go back to stock.

They just want to put you in a new car.

The ranking goes:
  1. 2022 GR86
  2. 2017 BRZ
  3. 2013 BRZ
  4. 2013 FR-S/ GT86
  5. 2022 BRZ
  6. 2006 Pontiac Aztek
  7. 2017 86

But yes, the 86 won me over from the start. The BRZ is love-hate. Some angles and colors are excellent. Other times I'm just meh about it.

As far as the 2nd gen goes…I don’t hate the 2nd gen, I like the look of the 1st gen better, but I think I’ll like the 2nd gen more once I see it in person. If I was in the market for a new car it’d still be on my list.

The only thing I'd change in your list to make it mine is put 2022 BRZ a bit higher.
Maybe between 2013's, maybe even above 2013 BRZ.

It keeps growing on me, especially in red.
For what it's worth, I really didn't like the '17 BRZ based on photos
when it just came out, and hated the red; but fell in love as soon as
I saw it in person. So I won't be too surprised if a lot of people change
their minds about 2nd gens when they see them in person, BRZ included.

Aztek vs '17 86

it's weird to list things from worst to best in numerical order, but i'll allow it.

it was a 90's GM design. could never get past the fantasik plastik interiors of the era, or having to tolerate owning a gm product for the same reasons.

but i appreciated the exterior styling.

just as bmw did with the x6.

and mercedes' gle

and tesla model x....
