TIL I am getting too old to be getting hammered at my friends house and spending the night on their living room floor. My back hurts and I am dragging ass today.

Today I learned that Colardo license plates are made by prisoners.. They're making thousands and thousands each day, didn't appreciate there was such a demand..

In the US, almost all states manufacture their plates using prison labor. There are other products also created by prisoners in quantity, usually for government use or programs, including:

Braille Books for the Blind
Furniture, Park Benches, Picnic Tables, etc
Silhouette practice range targets for law enforcement (PAPER people PAPER)
Baseball Caps
Horses (they break and train them)
airplane parts and missile harnesses
military clothing, including bullet proof vests

There's even one group of of SC inmates that spent some time in the 90's making Victoria Secret lingerie.

(Full disclosure, I did some research on this a few years back when a relative was in prison on an assault charge and he was paid to make braille books. It got my curiousity up.)

Ontario inmates also make plates. They also make all the clothing, bedding and other sewn materials used in the correctional facilities. For the last year they have also been making millions of disposable face masks.

Today I learned that Canadians who are not in prison pursue their hobbies as they have fuck all else to do.. ( so eloquently put by the Sex Pistols when they sang "friggin in the riggin..")

Well TIL that there are people in this world that will install what is probably a cheap EBay fourth brake light and not bother to check everything works for two months. Just as bad as smashing a wheel, driving on a spare for a few weeks, and then wondering why the car feels funny.

So I guess what I really learned is I am giving up hope on people as this car get’s cheaper and the owners action stranger.
