Got under the car today and finally figured out my steering noise.

Turns out 6 years after installing my Perrin steering lockdowns, the steering rack mounting bolts became loose by a 1/4 turn. This was causing the lockdowns to rattle on the rack and steering feel like crap. Tightened those to 65ft/lbs and all feels great again!

Remounted my splitter and added some additional bracing. Put in a new stock driveshaft. Built a new mount for my oil cooler that goes to the crash beam instead of mounting the lower tray. It sits too low though and actually almost touches the lower tray, so I am worried a hit from underneath will break it. May have to rethink this in the future, kind of annoyed with it right now.

Was going to replace all 4 hubs and swap out my CV's, but I also wanted to rebuild my front calipers and swap out my rears for a new set but I forgot my brake bleeder. I don't want to tear the car apart that far twice so decided to hold off on that for now.

Took my BRZ back to the mechanic after my Edelbrock install. There was a small oil leak that turned out just to be the drain plug gasket WHEW

Next time you get a chance check out 'Professional Awesome Racing's' front mount splitter quick latch system. Makes that process much faster given you can clip on and off to test-fit in seconds.

Autocross prep for this weekend.
Means taking the skinnys off and putting the meatys on.
Wish I could always run the big tires, car looks a bit lame with all the camber on factory wheels.

Filled the car with E85(well, what I believe was actually about E70) for the first time. With the 2 gallons in the car already my ethanol gauge is showing about 63%.

Today I am swapping out my 7k springs for 10K's. Resetting ride height, and doing a quick string alignment on the car before taking it into the shop for a proper alignment.

Edit: Also loving the Nameless "ultra quiet" track pipe. Again, probably too loud to DD, but perfect for weekend toy and track days.

Edit: Was going to hold off till next week but last night ended up also replacing all 4 hubs, putting in my regreased CV's. Replaced rear calipers, replaced brake lines on both ends.

WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR BRZ TODAY?

Installed blend mount for the 360c.
After using the suction cup for 2 years, it finally gave up and I installed the blend mount. Now there are 2, one for the dash cam one for the radar. I like the oem look.

Just watched this whole series (so far). This guys is awesome! He is a complete engine novice and is filming his journey as he rebuilds his motor with an IAG Stage 2 block. Motivation for sure!

Is he a member here?

Bang & Lazar strut tower covers

After see another member installing his Bang & Lazar strut tower covers I contacted them and they made a set for me with no special markings so I could have more of a OEM look. I liked how they will stop the buildup of dirt and dust as I like to keep my engine bay as clean as possible in my 2014 BRZ.
