Finally got the plug connectors for the headlights in and started the process of creating a plug and play harness for the intec fender garnish turn signals.

I wasted a connector by accident when I couldn't remove the female end I installed. For whatever reason, the male ends are very easy to remove with a small tool but the female ends... not so much.

And like everything else in life... you can tell which was the first one and which was the second LOL

After all these years, I decided to put the original UODS badges back on. I replaced the original badges with Toyota badges because I didn't want people to know I was driving a crappy UODS. But I don't think it fooled many people because the wheels all still say UODS. The funny thing is...It looks like they put the badge on the steering wheel on upside down.

It almost looks like it says "SCION". WTF is up with that?

I redid my Forester oil cooler coolant lines with vibrant heater hose.
I should have done this from the start. The cheaper hose I locally sourced pinched a lot easier which made it taper at the bends.

It's only got 192,116 on it. It's got aways to go to catch up with my old GTI.
The big difference is it cost me many thousands of dollars to get the VW to 190,000 miles. Timing belts, water pumps, coils, radio, windows, cam chain tensioner, hoses, pipes, wheel bearings, you name it has failed on the VW. So far I've replaced the TOB on the FR-S. That's it. Sure I've replaced wear items such as oil, brakes, tires, etc. Anyone who has any doubts about the reliability of the FR-S should drive a VW for awhile.
But the turbo is a blast still.

I just noticed something unusual. I can switch between MPH and km/h on the speedometer display, but the odometer only reads in miles. Same thing with the fuel mileage. It only reads as MPG.

I think you have the highest mileage twin around. Are you still on the stock motor?

Haha that reminds me of my mk6 GTI. During my 85k miles of ownership (owned since new), I lost one fuel injector, two water pumps (likely from an oil leak), and had a leaky rear window spray nozzle. I was always worried about the timing chain tensioner going as well, which was basically a ticking time bomb for the engine. Good car but the reliability was definitely not like Japanese cars.

I hacked a little holster out of kydex for my phone. The Twins are pretty lacking in the convenient and secure phone storage department. I formed a really rudimentary drop-in holster and attached it on center console with outdoor rated 3M tape.

I am a big Android Auto user, so I found a 1 ft cable. Perfect fit.

I like it. Your right about the lack of convenience, but honestly that’s what I love about it. It’s all car, and that part of the reason my girlfriend hates it haha.

Today I flashed my first tune! Pretty happy with myself. I was nervous as heck!
