I've used 19" in California and bent my rims on $3000 sets of Vossen-Work on my FR-S though. LOL You are right about American roads. We can't play with ultra low profile tires... Tesla didn't know this very well and had a havoc with their Model S in the last few years.

Well, seeing it with 5x100 lugs, the centerlock design seems to be just a decorative touch as centercaps.

I like the steering wheel design, minus the LED tid bits. Hopefully they will offer that as an option.

Original 1st Gen Chief Designer, Mr.Furukawa and the SARD GT1
Original 1st Gen Chief Designer, Mr.Furukawa, didn't have any input on the second generation GR86/BRZ, but it seems he has had the task of exterior design concept of the 2nd Gen's SARD GT1 Concept.
He sent me this to share, and while he isn't in charge of SARD Racing's product plans and exports, he hopes that his design will be available in the USA and Europe.

Front end has kind of a Tesla vibe to it. I kinda dig it! Also that wing is perfect.

I like the wing and the tail lights. The rest is a bit awkward looking

Love the color.
I have to wonder if the side panels don't end up causing an issue where it creates a channel between the built-in aero and the added black lip. Maybe it's not as big a gap as it looks but it seems like it would cause issues (not to mention not crazy how it looks). As @saltywetman says, it just doesn't look exactly right, particularly at the rear.

There's some beautiful work here (and some off choices) but I just feel like we've seen a lot of this with the first BRZ/FR-S introduction almost 10 years ago. A lot of stick-on body parts and anodized suspension bits.
Maybe I'm just getting old...

For people in highly restricted places like California and parts of Europe where engine swaps are next to impossible or really cumbersome and expensive to legalize, the updated engine is a really welcome change I think.

As a European citizen,If it wasn't a 2.4L engine i would agree.Europe has high taxes in a lot of countries, above 2000cc.Even though i do prefer the naturally aspirated engine and it's purpose,in Europe a smaller turbocharged engine(maybe 1800cc?) with low CO2 would be a better choice for sales numbers.

I think this choice was more Subaru side decision who has much bigger stake in the USA/Canada region. You see with Toyota, Honda, or Nissan it isn't the case where you see many 2.0L and smaller engine sizes for specifically the European and Japanese markets. This is the primary reason the A90 Supra comes in the 2.0L turbo, which really has no reason to exist in the USA.
