Wrong end of duck! Duck *tail*, not bill. Though I guess maybe the old non-turbo 911 whaletail (aka "tea tray") did look more like a flat bill (at the wrong end of car/duck) than a kicked-up tail... This new 86's spoiler is definitely taking "ducktail" more literally though, usually it's a spoiler that runs fairly evenly across the rear of the car, this one is a lot more 3D, much more substantial in the middle and rapidly diminishing at the sides, more like an actual duck's tail...

I guess for most of us, when we think about ducks, we often think of Donald or Scrooge McDuck, Daisy or Daffy.
I'm attaching a blueprint. Check the side profile view for clarification.

Duck Tail or D.A. is a hairstyle popular in the 50's which looks nothing like the rear end of the GR86. I'll yield to Duckbill for the GR86 description.

I was hoping somebody would point that out. The upswept trunk spoiler is not now nor never has been called a duck "bill". It has always been a duck "tail". Guess it now is part of the terminology up there with "fitment" since there are the usual crowd trying to rationalize the use of "bill".

Look at their tails. LOOK at them!

Now look at the real shape of their bills.

Don't even know why we're even having this conversation since the GR86 is a vehicle not a duck. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck, which a GR86 is definitely not!

I gotta give it to y'all resident duck experts on this one - Toyota took Subaru's duck bill and took it to the extreme and made it a duck tail!

I normally hate any spoilers (although I liked the one on my B13 SE-R because otherwise it would look too much like a humble Sentra) but I am fond of ducktails.

I think whaletails and all GT3 spoilers look like cheesy garbage on street Porsches. I now they serve a purpose but just not a fan. Ruin the lines of the car. Little ducktails are pretty cool though.

I'd avoid 18 inch wheels though. Would rather have 17s with beefier rubber. Bent too many wheels on my E39/46's even with 45 spec tires.

That is exactly the sort of logic we see on here all the time!
"Since witches are burned at the stake, they must be made of wood, since it burns as well. Wood floats on water, as do ducks. Therefore, if the woman weighs the same as a duck, she must be able to float on water, which means she is made of wood, and consequently must be a witch".
