![]() LOL. I got into the career I just retired from because I declined to work on a job designing a binary nerve agent plant in the late 70s. That led me to become one of those awful commie college professors some of my "friends" here love to hate.

Congrats on having the courage to walk away from it. And thanks for sharing! My career took a dramatic turn fifteen years ago when I turned down a missile guidance gig. We all live in the sin of hypocrisy. I find redemption in the small successes.

About ten years into my academic career, the DOD/CIA approached my university/college with a sponsored project. I wasn't able to scuttle it, but it did offer a nice target for ridicule in faculty meetings. I did manage to walk away with a cool "CIA" key/badge lanyard. I used it proudly until I retired. I'm thinking of using it in a shadowbox.

Apparently last night at my apartment complex there were a bunch of police/sheriffs and they arrested one or two people. So people are gossiping on the apartment's private social media page thingy about it. Someone said they talked to the cops, who said it's some kind of criminal gang that's been operating out of one of the townhome style units (since they have a private garage). And someone else said they may have a bunch of stolen cars.
Now I'm sad because I'm wondering if they're responsible for the three or four parked Datsuns I've seen parked in the same corner of the property. Those are some nice classics.

Public announcement, it wasn’t me that did it. Was very tempting, but didn’t & let the boss handle it.

This is my take on the whole thing. Love it or hate it, there will always be bias results. We the mods & admin try to be in the fair-ground & give consequences to everyone that applies, but we don’t read or see all the picture. As a result, unexpected bias happens. From there, he/she can move on or keep whining. We both know which one he took. This is the internet. This is the forum. Admin is the ruler/God of this place. He is the rule. No Murican constitution or other land’s law apply here (to certain degree of course). Don’t like it? Make our own kingdom & become the ruler/God yourself to see how annoying & suck been an admin… especially a mod. No pay, pure voluntary work, day in, day out get notification of reports of spams, scams, “he hurt my feeling”, “he called me idiot” & reports goes on & on. I’m pretty surprised I’m going on 9th year been a mod. I’m just doing for the love for this forum & the 86/BRZ fans. TLDR: Shaggy’s famous quote: “It wasn’t me” |

people seem much more petty here in general. i was/am(if i log on) a mod at hidplanet. i never once got the 'he hurt my feelings' messages.
of course, if something was going astray, i had a habit of editing posts into whatever suited me at the time, usually an overly-long rant about some mundane topic to very obviously fill space and lose interest.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful and relaxing Sunday afternoon.
And if you aren't having a good day or are feeling down, frustrated, angry, or upset for whatever reason, please remember that tomorrow the sun will rise and it'll be a brand new day.

Migraine has finally subsided enough I figured I’d be productive, drive to work and do some stuff to the car. Going to try to get AC delete and FF kit installed.

'Twas a good day...
![]() ![]() Little rough around the edges, as advertised and as expected, but will make a great little winter rig and a fun summer project. Original owner had the 1.5" OME soft spring lift kit installed with 5x new wheels and tires and new brakes just before he listed it. Even threw in a full synthetic oil change yesterday as he knew I had a nearly 500 mile day of driving. It is the opposite of quick and/or fast but didn't give me any grief on its maiden voyage. Should probably start a thread asking for turbo kit input...
