2013 stock rims: are they “forged”?

Just wondering as I wanted to get lighter forged rims...

they're not, but it really doesn't make any significant difference beyond the hard parking crowd.

Not by a long shot. Cast and pretty heavy.

Hmm .. imho mid-heavy. Among OE 17 cast wheels seen noticeably heavier ones too then what 9.1kg prerestyle OE wheels weight. In some countries roads are bad enough that extra strenght of wheels certainly won't hurt. Some aftermarket top cast wheels might be some 1.5-2kg lighter, but it's not exactly revolutionary difference.

Well considering you can aftermarket wheel wider with wider tires and be the same weight as oem setup. But yes oems do this on purpose for strength and cheaper to produce

Also considering the OP drives a TC which I think our stockers fit pretty well on those cars...

Even if they are forged, OEM forged usually tend to be quite a bit heavier than forged stuff out of Rays/tws/bbs to meet the super strict oem requirements.

Examples:

TRD USA forged 17x7.5" wheels for the FRS RS 2.0 edition weighed in at 16lbs by a fellow forum member

JDM TRD SF2 forged 18x7.5" wheels made by TWS was reported to have a weight of 7.5kg which ~16.5lbs

When you look at the TWS website, their 18x9.5 T66-F weighs 7.17kg which is even less than the narrower, smaller TRDUSA forged wheel.

With wheels you can only take 2/3 in the categories of cheap, durable, and lightweight.
