That is exactly what my state did minus the near the airport part.
Not alot of hotels near it.

The few a-holes that broke quarantine got charged and fined alot, and immediately sent packing.

That's what they are doing here. Upon arrival you must stay at a designated Covid hotel near the airport for 3 days and must quarantine a total of 2 weeks. Unfortunately, there is a catch that the 3 day hotel thing isn't required if you cross the border by land. Tons of people are flying to the closest airport to the border and just paying $250 to be cabbed from Buffalo to Toronto, for example. Can't say I blame them, but it is imperative they follow the quarantine rules.

We have had people fly in with falsified negative test documents on several occasions too. I wonder what they end up getting as a punishment for that?

The biggest concern has been the 10 or so flights per week still arriving from India. I think they will be cut off shortly. That eliminates 2 problems, possible spread of another variant and attempts to bypass safety protocols.

Considering Florida collects a good portion of it's taxes off tourism, I would say that's a bad thing for them...
