Price usually increases this time of year doesn't it?

Well, it's a significant increase from 2 or 3 months ago. I was paying a constant 3.80/gallon, then the Texas winter storm hit. And even though it doesn't affect Cali (or so they say when ever the national average goes down, but Cali doesn't due to having their own refineries), they still increased it 3.90, then 4.20, then 4.30, and now 4.50. I would think if they switched to summer blend, it would have stayed around 4.30 or lower to offset the "Texas storm."

The price of oil is going up worldwide. It isn't just a US or California thing. It couldn't stay as low as it was forever I am afraid.
On the bright side as the price of oil goes up so does the value of the Canadian dollar. We hit a three year high today.

Here's the price per gallon history for the 534 fill-ups of my 86 (as of 4/27/2021). Prices are definitely up, although it's gone down a bit in the last couple of weeks.

90% of this was purchased at the same gas station.

Never really paid much attention to petrol prices since I use my Stop and Shop grocery points to get on average $0.40/ gal off the price. But also at the same time it's all about the good ole supply/demand, last year as horrible as it was, it was amazing because I was paying maybe $1.60 per gallon premium fuel, now that things are starting to pick up and people are starting to go out more, it is only natural that prices go up once again.

I know others have experienced far less expensive fuel, but I do miss the 90s when I could fill an empty tank with $10 and get change back.

The funny part is that although people may remember gas that was "cheaper" than the 90s there was no time that even came close when you look at the adjusted prices.

Take 1938 and an example since 20 cents a gallon looks really great until you consider that minimum wage was 25 cents an hour and the average income was $800 a YEAR!

actually, they are a bit like the younger Dad's....

Unfortunately all the storefronts for this company are shut down right now. I had thought about doing this for Mother's Day for my wife a couple of months ago.

As an aside, someone needs to figure out how to do this type of 3D printing using ashes from a cremation. it would be cool for pets, or a creepy "family portrait" to pass down the generations.
