Why is an airdam so much more expensive than a front splitter?

It seems like the front splitter would be more effective? Why would you want to get an air dam and pay more?

Care to link what you are looking at? A proper front splitter usually has an air dam or something to seal the gap between front splitter and bumper. The Verus air dam for the splitter is 100 bucks.

Edit: You must be referring to the APR air dam. Manufacturing time of contoured part vs flat part.

It's not, technically. Data: https://www.verus-engineering.com/bl...closer-look-12

Take it with a grain of salt since the analysis was done on an NA Miata.
