Yup, just wait for the second model year to come around. The 350 and 370 also had markups by some dealers when they first hit the lot.

In 2010 I was thinking about trading in my Supra for a used 06 G35 coupe with 32k. One of the saleman at Robbins Nissan thought I was interested in a yellow 370z in the showroom. He said the sticker is $37k but I'll let go for $32k; maybe $30k if you don't want the wheels. LOL at those that paid markups or MSRP the year earlier.

I’m just saying the headlights could be done with a cover in a reasonable way. The Challenger isn’t too different. I would be interested in the rationale. I think it is more likely that the design would impose greater changes to the frame and structure than they wanted, so the kept to reskinning things in a cheap way.

I'm with you on this one. Heck, the 2021 Corvette is "sort of" like that.

I think the real problem though is so much of the front facia on cars any longer is just a bumper cover there are no good attach points, and in a crash the plastic would break.

The Challenger has the lights in the front, not the bumper cover, so its less a challenge.

I used the Challenger as an example of open, round headlights and a pointy, open grill by them that could injure a pedestrian, if that is the reason for the inability to use the classic 240Z design language. I agree it has something to do with the logistics over the laws, but who knows?

Fail. Looks like home-painted leather seat covers and spray can rice paint job.

Pass on the blue interior. If I were to get the Z, it would be all blue or yellow exterior (no two-tone), with black interior.

All what goodies?

Almost can’t believe someone can get a 455hp 450tq 6.2L V8 for $35k either.

I very much like what I’m seeing with the new Z. But, as I ranted about in another thread, my car buying experiences have shown Nissan dealers to be the absolutely sleaziest of all. Their slime is what drove me into Subaru’s arms and buying a BRZ, after initially trying to get a 370Z.

It looks like Nissan is now going to double down on the sleaze:
