Note: Interim means that I ordered the AIRAID and waiting for it's release.

Eh, it just sounded loud and rough until the "crossover" where it just stared to sound like a buzzsaw.

Never a buzz saw on my car. It was a very nice sound...errr, kinda raw I guess. Not a deep roar tone, but 'get the hell out of my way' sound. No rasp either. Anyway, I'm curious to how loud the AIRAID is myself and the tone. I'm not pimping APs intake cause it wasn't full-proof, but it 'worked'.

I suspect some of what you were hearing was just poor video quality and it would sound different in real life. Have you seen the Borla exhaust video? They have special microphones to pick up the sound. I'm going to talk to our marketing guys with the nice A/V equipment and see if we can record the intake sound.

Here is the black anodized lid with laser engraved logo. Pardon the fingerprints, we were in a hurry.

Also thanks to local FR-S owner Nate for bringing in his automatic for testing. He is driving on the prototype now and hopefully will post his opinion of the kit here.

black ano lid is spot-on, Im glad you guys finally found an automatic car! Such thorough testing, I hope other companies take notice. Thats 3 cars with several iterations of the prototype, dedication to the quality of the end-product is what its all about.

That looks awesome. You guys do some fantastic work! I'm a pretty patient guy so I'm waiting for the final product dyno, sound bytes and some user impressions. I don't think I've ever seen an intake so thoroughly developed on any platform I've owned. It's almost always a metal tube and cone filter which gets "engineered" enough not to throw codes.

My car is the white one pictured above.

I've driven about 60 miles with the prototype installed, and for those of you worried about sound... I haven't noticed any additional sound running under normal traffic conditions (lower rpms), which is the way I like it . I'm going to take it out for a spin tomorrow, and do some more 'exciting' driving, and see how it performs/sounds from there. I can do some video if you guys want.. but it'll probably be from my iphone, so I doubt you'll even be able to hear anything from that.

Awesome job with the product Keith! Very OEM look and haven't noticed anything abnormal.

PS - Kieth gave a tour of their facility, and I've got to say... it's TOP NOTCH! Can't get any better than hand-made-in-the-USA filters! Very excited for this product!!!

Stay tuned for more updates...

I am personally glad that a company with a proven quality on Big boy pick ups / FJs and American Muscle has crossed into the import market.

It's mounted inside the filter box.

Molds are here! We will be working this weekend to get them running and hopefully approving the first parts next week.
