How is Sweden a good example? They didn’t do great and also didn’t do nothing. Try listing what they did do to thwart the spread of the virus. Try comparing apples to apples. If infection rates are identical in a rural area and in a major, dense city then did they both handle things equally well?

If the exposure rate was 100%, meaning everyone had immunity, then the case and death rate would be zero. The only way the case rate is not zero with a 100% exposure rate is if reinfection is super common.

India has done about half the number of tests as the US, even with their larger population. Research how poor India is at reporting deaths in general in rural areas and even in the cities; I’m sure it is even worse now. Like other countries, India is use to pandemics and their response as a country isn’t defiance.

I am not getting the vaccine currently until I have more information on it that satisfies me and until it is FDA approved. The full court press of peer pressure certainly won't change my mind. I never said that I would never get it.

Sweden is an example of a different approach regarding lockdowns, shut downs and mask mandates than the United States and had almost identical results of infection, and lower rates of death. Again you are nit-picking bits and pieces of the Covid puzzle and missing the big picture.

Considering we now have multiple strains of Covid, at least 4 at last count, one strain may already be at 100% exposure, there is no way to tell as like most virus they can change each time they encounter a host.

So on India you are saying that their numbers must obviously be false but there is no way the US numbers could be incorrect? And I'm the conspiracy theorist? If one could be incorrect, they both could be incorrect, its common sense. Hypocrite much?

If you've lost interest in this thread, and you are so busy at work saving Covid patients how/why do you post here 3.14x a day?

The answer is, they don't know yet, I believe. The current vaccine covers the variants so far but for how long and how far varied no one knows. I would imagine a variant where the spike proteins are different would be problematic but I'm about as far from knowledgeable you can get.

Spreading misinformation during a pandemic can be considered malignant IMO..

A quick search reveals Ontario has roughly 1/3 the deaths per thousand vs Cali, Fla, IL. I think it's a combination of inter-state travel, political priorities and the stubborn unwillingness to shut down the economy no matter how bad it gets. The opposite of New Zealand, where the govt. cracked down on individual freedom to save lives. I can't believe masks arent required in Fla. Is that some sort of denial or they just don't want to ruin the vacation vibe while the "stench" of death permeates?

So, you might come out with more lost friends and relatives but hoping for less financial repercussions.

And although the State of Florida doesn't mandate masks, Individual businesses, venues, gathering places do. You see, people can do the right thing without being forced to do it. Of all the states I've traveled to since this began (FL, GA, TX, NY, NJ, PA, NC, SC, OH, VA, WV, AL) Florida has one of the better mask compliance rates, SC the worst.

And one thing about individual freedoms, they are up to the individual. You want to not wear a mask, lick your hands, and catch this virus you are free to do so. You want to quarantine in your house until it's gone, sure you can. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle. And BTW, New Zealand is an island, pretty easy to stop people from coming in or out, the US, not so much...look at the border...

The US didn't have a "lockdown" at all compared to China. Some restaurants got turned into a drive-thru, but you've always been able to go to Home Depot, Autozone, or the strip club in 9/10 counties.

I'm aware of the travel differences compared to an island. My country is much more spread out and the spread pattern very different as well, so Ontario with 10.5M people doesn't cross to Manitoba or Saskatchewan alot, only somewhat to Quebec with 8.5M people. Again, I urge everyone to get vaccinated ASAP. THEN, you can start to see some normalcy restored.
They announced today that Sanofi will expand their facility near where I live with a $950M investment at a 100 year old facility famous for developing and producing Insulin. This will expand our domestic vaccine capability and current conditions placing dependence on European suppliers and slow on the uptake in general must be avoided going forward. The facility will be in full operation by 2027 ?! They'll make flu vaccines.

I read the post you are referring to in bold as pointing out that some places don't have the resources to test as many people. But I agree delivery could be better self-moderated in some cases, such as the post you quoted.

Technically if you are suggesting that there is a group of people who are abusing their power to intentionally mislead people in a way which tangibly benefits themselves to the detriment of the people they supposedly serve, then you are saying there is a conspiracy. If you are presenting an idea which relates a set of observable facts to each other, then you are presenting a theory. If that is not the case, could you please clarify your position?
