I had a project leadership update meeting with my manager. He asked me for updates on estimates since there have been some delays, both external and internal.

I gave my estimates and provided reasons.

Then he basically pushed me into a corner and gave me an estimate of about half the time and refused to consider the plausible reasons I have given him.

What's the point of asking a project lead for estimates if you're just going to ignore them and give your own?

So that your manager doesn't need to tell his/her manager that the project is delayed. Then they can act upset when it's not ready at their estimate and it's not their fault because you took longer than expected.

I mean, just in the last two to three hundred years you had American explorers who went out west toward the US west coast, and some lived out in the prairies and stuff. They probably had basically nobody for miles of farm land and fields or whatever. Maybe they had a town several miles away but it’s not like they’d constantly be there unless they specifically were selling crops or whatever.

So they must’ve been relatively okay on their own.

But with humans these days so spoiled with sprawling urban centers and instant communication even with the internet for far off friends and relatives, it’s so different. Could we revert back to that kind of isolated living?

Maybe your manager is just trying to s-t-r-e-t-c-h you, in hopes that it will make you stronger and a more valuable project leader -

This actually reminds me of an idea I had a long time ago, in which a movie or book follows a character after a traumatizing event. Whether it be a world-altering storm, alien invasion, serial killer attack, ect. Like it's something I've always wanted to explore; the psychological or physiological effects.

I realize people either enjoy or hate the Marvel movies, but it'd be super interesting if one of their new Disney+ mini series went over what happened during the "snap" period.

I'm sure they will but I'm guess more of like flashbacks.

Just tired. It has been a long past 5 days.

Good news is house inspection went well and I have agreed to buy a place from my uncle. Has a 30X24 detached garage/shop.

I would take rude and pushy over snooty and entitled all day long. It's not education so much as the way some use it as a tool to feed fragile emotional needs.

Think I’m done packing all the things the movers will be taking over, finally. Just some leftover stuff that I’ll be taking over myself.

Speaking of which, I’m having trouble finding a buyer for this passenger dash cover and I really don’t need it. If any of you guys want it I’ll send it to ya for shipping cost.
