Honestly it devolves into ramblings about the exotic animal trade and deforestation. TLDR: people need to learn some goddamn hygiene and stop going to random bushmeat markets. But that's not going to happen so be ready for air travel to get shut down a bunch of times.

I thought it devolved into humans living in close proximity to animals.

So.....

Georgia has modified the qualifiers for getting the vaccine to 55 years and older or certain medical issues for those over 18 or older. One of those those qualifiers is "Obsesity" as defined by having a BMI of 25 or higher.

From what I can tell then, since a BMI of 24 is "normal weight" they have basically opened it up for everyone in the state except those that match the standard weight/height chart (probably 10% of the state at best)

They can open it up to everybody... but the fact is the distribution is AFU and most people will not be able to get it for quite a while...

I got my first shot 42 days ago... and my second shot was cancelled due to lack of vaccine (Moderna). The pharmacy still has not rescheduled me even though I am past the recommended window. Good thing I had no faith in the system and found my own second dose a week ago!

We are seeing a definite decline in cases in our 350 bed, 4 Hospital system. At one point we were averaging as many as 50 inpatients with confirmed Covid. For the past 3 weeks we've been in single digits (as I write this, we are at 6 patients).

We also gave our 10,000th vaccination about a week ago to a 90-year old lady getting her second shot. She said the first thing she was going to do in two weeks is go to Cracker Barrel as she has been locked in for over 12 months.

Overall, we are over 15,000 vaccinations and had a day where we did over 2,400 in one day last week, split between two events.

Of course, that includes 1st and 2nd shots, so it's hard to say how many people that is.

They just opened up vaccinations for my age group with at least one medical condition, so I guess I should get in line.
