Strange Things Seen on TV Shows

I saw this on a recent NCIS New Orleans episode. Why?
I know we gamers sometimes have to makeshift stuff but why set a monitor on books and then strap it down?

With all the weird things that they do on NCIS this is the thing you picked up on?

It's probably IT implemented, to keep the end user from twisting the monitor and disconnecting the plugs in the back. HDMI/DP doesn't screw into the port like DVI and VGA did, so when people move shit around, it gets unplugged and then they have no idea why.

I have no idea why it is in a TV show though

EDIT- just realized, the monitor would still swivel. I have no explanation.

There was also that scene in the Mandalorian season 2 where they missed a grip (or whatever the role is) person in one of the shots that made it onto the real show. They had to remove the guy in post-production after releasing it.

I want to say it was the new Westworld, but if someone else remembers otherwise please correct me. Anyway there was an execution scene and the gun used was a lever-gun, and they made no attempt to edit the .22 shell that was ejected immediately upon firing. It was very obviously some kind of 10/22 or model 60 conversion, and it was basically a hero gun. It was just kind of there for all to see and it was really out of place.

Forty or fifty years ago that was kind of par-for-the-course and I wouldn’t even think twice about it. But these days they’re usually more careful in the big productions.

Yes because, all the other stuff is expected Hollywood crap. Like the 18 shot six shooters of old. The guy riding a twin cylinder motorcycle that sounds like an in-line four with a pipe. My favorite bitch is every show that has a car chase where the two slush-o-matic chase cars all of a sudden change their audio to the Bullet sound track complete with Steve's double clutch up shifts.
But this, "quicky fix" has nothing to do with moving the story forward. So why do it??

I’ve always loved the chase scenes in Ronin. I feel like they did a great job nailing down that “engine” noise, rather than just the exhaust.

There’s a great production documentary on Ford V Ferrari (which I haven’t gotten around to watching yet) where they go into some detail about the car sounds. It was really interesting. They actually brought a number of historic LeMans cars out of storage and did a bunch of sound recording with them.

Fun fact: Robert De Niro wasn't driving, he was just turning a dummy wheel. The stunt driver in the right hand seat was doing all the work which would explain the look on De Niro's face at times.

The most interesting thing about Ford vs Ferrari to me was how many times since they've made the same mistakes as a company.
