That's normal, also never seen that on another car before, but yes it's 'normal' on the FA20 and mine does it too

Never seen a bouncing tensioner before? Most of the cars I had in the last 15 years or so do it.

You are used to seeing either manually adjustable, or damped tensioners. All three are an equally valid approach to the problem based on where the tensioner lives in the belt path.

It worried me a little, as I had smell some gas form the injectors on the drivers side and was checking all around for leaks, car seems to have lost a little power on low revs. But I never noticed that tensioner wobbling at idle. In fact, if you do search some videos of FA20 not every FA20 wobbles like that at idle. In any case, I am glad to know that this is no reason for concern (unless the belt starts slapping the pulley above). |
