After discounts I think most owners in the States have said the price differences is like $5k+. If I was in the market for a Zupra I would also go with the 3.0. And when it comes to resale; past Z4 that seem to be less desirable and cheaper are the base models.

5k from a 2021 2.0 to a 2020 3.0. The 2021 3.0's are still a good 10k difference with most stating they're to be had around 52k otd price.

agree, i think Toyota made a huge mistake by bring that to the US. from what im gathering online dealers are having a hard time moving the 2.0. the only place that seems to be doing ok is CA because of their outrageous pricing/markups.

i think it will only get worst when the Z replacement comes. down the road i have a feeling the 2.0 will turn out just like the NA MK4 turd. no one is going to want one except to do a motor swap.

As a mkv 3.0 owner, the 2.0 has very little aftermarket support. The resale value of the 2.0 is bad. I highly recommend getting the 3.0 over the 2.0.

No point of having a 2.0. It's slightly cheaper just to say you bought a damn Supra. For the price, there are many options out there. I wouldn't even consider a 2.0 lol. Should've just kept the 3.0 and have a base and GR with upgrades, whether engine or cosmetic. Fucking Toyota 😆

Low resale = good argument to buy used if going 2.0.
The drag races above are kind of telling, the 2.0 doesn't exactly get destroyed by the 3.0 and MkIV, not to the expected degree. Granted, not ideal launch conditions but still... They're all "fast" cars relative to the FT86. I'm still probably more interested in a 3200-lb. 2.0 vs. 3400 lb. 3.0. Even "very little" aftermarket support for the 2.0 could give big power gains given turbo.

Used 2.0 may be on my radar now But more likely I'll keep my BRZ and replace with a '23 or '24 "big-block" 2.4 BRZ in a couple of years...

The 2.0 is very different from the 3.0. It’s a night and day difference. If you don’t mind the ridicule from other Supra owners, then go for it.

A standing start drag race hides all the faults of a 2.0 liter turbo.

More interesting, and telling, and real world applicable, would be a rolling race.

Performance at the track vs. other similar power/weight cars would be my real-world. I do some ~7/10ths spirited backroads driving occasionally on the street, but no impromptu roll-racing...

Apples to oranges because its a really old car but I just picked up a clean 2004 2.5 Z4 with 33k on the odometer for $5.5k. The 3.0s with around the same mileage were in the $10k range.
