The plane and the deck/hanger sections will be the same size. I will build the deck and hanger in 1/48 as a base for the plane.
The full sub and tiny plane will be separate from the 1/48 plane/deck/hanger. to show what the whole sub looks like.

OOOOH, must have missed the part about it being two separate things. That's going to be super cool! Definitely let me know when you get this kit!

The submarine kit doesn't include the plane? You building that kit will be entertaining! Also, wouldn't 1/48 look way too big on the submarine since it's 1/350?
i knew about the japanese submarine, but didn't know it was something just about all major countries experimented with

Not gonna lie, thought about getting the 1/35 Stealth Fighter Jet (yeah, I'm not good at remember plane models) with the Hummer that Tamiya had on sale for $50 over Superbowl Sunday. And that's cuz it's just linear body panels and flat black. HAHA

Well, lots of mishaps with this one, and I think I got a bad kit. The parts of the windows that had to be painted did not line up correctly, and it had a couple scratches (molding issues?) in the windows.

Also experimented using some cheap acrylic paint from Michael's for the suspension bits...not sure if I had to thin it or not, but I did not like the finish.

This time I tried using one battery/case to power the headlights and taillights, but all three are on separate channels on the switch. Well, low and high beams can turn on independently and together, but if either are on when I switch the taillights on, they get turned off for some reason. I guess I'll stick with two batteries and cases like I used on the R34.

Looks perfect.
I am sort of on and off working on doing cars that I had. Unfortunately they are all of course 30 or 40 year old molds and all the lack of detail that comes with the old molding tech. The best you can hope for is something that is al least close. The good part is that since most of my cars were pretty beat up I can at least hide some of the lack of detail with weathering.

Thanks! I've seen people do barnyard find and wrecking yard builds on their models, complete with dioramas! I don't think it's something I can ever do since I really don't have any weathering skills whatsoever. haha

Since you have outstanding weathering skills, I think you should give a barnyard find look a try with one of those old kits. I'm sure it will come out very nice.

I have a couple of Junker kits that were given to me (an 86 Monte Carlo and a 91 T Bird) that will be part of a wrecker diorama someday. The focus of it will be a rough but salvageable 60 or 70 Mopar of some kind.

All done. Just waiting on the taboo (in Revell Germany kits) tail emblem decal to arrive.

Very nice work. I was wondering why you weathered and detailed the innards of the wing. Makes sense now. haha.

Ever think about printing your own decals? I saw a video on it, doesn't seem hard if you have the supplies. That way you won't have to wait (unless you already ordered).
