I'm certainly not a psychologist, and could use the services of one. But I think along the same lines as @PenGun and @Capt_Spaulding. If the main motivation in buying a car (or anything else) is primarily what others might think of it, more than a person's own intrinsic liking of it, I think there might be healthier ways of addressing a sense of low self-esteem. It's like when I was in high school, and I got rid of a Ford Pinto and bought a 1969 Mustang Fastback. I thought it would be easier to get dates. At the time I was choosing between the Mustang and a Saab 99. I also happened to like the Mustang, but one of the reasons I chose it was because I thought it was a 'hotter' car and I would likewise be seen as 'hotter' by the girls at school. I was woefully wrong. |

Sixty-one
61. I picked up a used 2013 one month ago. It makes me smile every time I drive it. It's going to be my new favorite car.

I’ve noticed a lot of the YouTube BRZ videos are kids anywhere from 18-25ish. But maybe that is more to do with younger kids videoing themselves.
I’m 30, FWIW

I tried having fun once. I hated it.
Bought my FR-S at the age of 55. 60 now. I drive a lot. Don't race. Like driving in winter in snow. Don't like it when other people drive in winter in snow around me.
