DOH! Maybe the greatest cars are MADE in europe, but honestly, normal european guy drives little over 100hp cars. We can't even dream about 300+ hp cars what you guys get in america. I bet the most popular Audi TT in europe is under 200hp version, so in that perspective it's very nice that GT86 have 200hp in it's cheapest form. Of course, for example London is exeption, where you can see ferraris after ferrari and 1997 corolla is rare...

Hehe, yeah I remember hearing a story of my friend Matt's friends coming over from Ireland and gawking at the (then new) Charger sedan. They were like "FIVE-POINT-SEVEN LITERS??!!" You really couldn't afford to buy a car like that over in Europe for a daily driver. Hell, I wouldn't buy anything that got less than 24mpg average in this country!

The hottest cars in the world are made in Europe, for Europeans. We're just lucky that we get some of them in the States.

I just got back from Germany. I picked up my C63 via MBZ's European Delivery program. My av is the car at the Mercedes Kundencenter Delivery area (Sindelfingen), sig is of the car below the ruins of Hohengeroldseck. Plenty of hot cars over there and everyone in the econo cars will let you know that they're a fan ("breaking neck", taking photos, and thumbs up).

Also, just because you see someone in an econo box doesn't mean they don't have a beast in their garage.

Anyhow, BRZ/FRS is the new kid on the block, so it's getting all the attention (from reviewers).
Nobody's that ignorant to think Germany doesn't make the best cars. I never said they don't make nice cars or drive nice cars. I've been to europe and all I'm saying is a lot of their streets are dominated by small sedans like the fiats and peugots. streets are tiny there and they have some of the tightest parking spots ever. Not everybody is gonna drive their 7 series or s-class to pick up groceries. The cars they make that have a lot of HP come as a whole package as either luxury (like the audis or bmws) or as high-end sports car like their lambos/ferarris. They probably look at our chargers and see just the HP, since that's all our muscle cars really are.

Europe also has some crazy taxes on cars. Cars can be taxed by emissions, power or displacement depending on the country. It makes having a mustang gt (costs like $60k in Germany) comparable to a cayman s in some countries there which is just crazy.
