Torn Between Two Lovers - Mary MacGregor
True story. Senior Prom High School. I had a bad breakup with my first girlfriend (she "cheated" on me), and while we made up later as friends, I ended up taking her best friend to Prom. We all ended up going to dinner as part of a large group for Prom Night. When at the table I ended up with my date and my ex-girlfriend sitting to my left and right. This song, which was popular at the time came on the overhead music. About half-way through, I noticed the entire table was looking at me. I jumped in at the chorus and in a rare public performance, stood up, grabbed their hands and sang it to both of them. The whole place cracked up and joined in.
