I picked mine up from the smash repair place today, after hitting a kangaroo before Christmas. New bumper, grill, left headlight, left fog light, left guard, dash!, steering wheel...

It smells like a new car!

I’m actually pretty happy - they’ve done quite a nice job. They resprayed the bonnet, right guard and blended on the doors. All my stone chips from the last 75,000km are gone.

75,000km, so in goes new oil (5W30 Mobil 1), new oil filter (oem), new air cleaner (K&N) and new cabin filter (Repco). This is the first official service I’ve done myself, as the first 4 were subsidised by Toyota, so I let the stealer do them.

I fit my Fumoto drain valve while the oil was out. It’s cool, and I can’t wait to use it in anger on the next change.

Sewing It's been a learning curve for sure but I'm okay with the results so far. I have to fit the e-brake boot tomorrow which requires grinding/sanding some of the internal plastic structure away. This material is a bit thicker than OEM.

Isn't 5W-30 an optional oil weight in the rest of the world? I swear I have heard overseas members say that 5W-30 is listed in their owners manual.

Could be. Iirc, 0-20 was used to encourage emissions requirements which might not apply there

Which kit did you get? I’m interested in this mod.

WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR FRS TODAY?

I installed the Vantop 612H rear view mirror with a rear facing camera. After an accident two years ago that i got screwed out of, i installed a cheap dash cam that didn’t work half the time, so i upgraded to this. It’s nice to have a front and rear facing camera.

First sunny day in about a month! 8 degrees out but I don't care; sun's out guns out.
Got the new bash bar on, hoping to mount the intercooler today, I've had it packed away for the next nice day, which I think is today.

Taking a break until the feeling in my hands comes back.

OEM here is 0W20. But I live in a very hot climate, where 5W30 is appropriate.

Here's a link to it:

The switches look just like the OEM ones and fit in the OEM cutouts. It's a really easy kit to install, just tap the 12 VDC wire to the center console port and connect the grounds to a bolt under the center console.

The link doesn’t seem to work unfortunately. Sounds easy enough tho!
