I regularly compete in the (mum's) Yaris Challenge.

From the traffic lights it's challenge to get up to speed.

Maybe I missed it being posted earlier but Toyota has created a mailing list for the GR Yaris in the USA:

https://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/gr-hot-hatch/

Disappointingly the url says 'hot hatch' and not yaris but, rays of hope.

While GR Yaris isn't coming to the U.S., perhaps it's time the U.S. got a Toyota hot hatch to call its own.

It's for a different hot hatch so probably the Corolla. But wouldn't be surprised if they did some bullshit like a GR HR-C

We are getting the Corolla GR here in the states. Now the question is will they use this 1.6 and AWD system or cheap out.... Time will only tell

Keeping my expectations low, I would suspect they do only the motor and no AWD. That would make too much sense and the average American consumer (mostly on the internet) would blow a gasket at the cost.

Not that it was a rousing success but there was a 50k focus. At least that’s what they were initially selling off for. Even making those thoughts my heart drops going through the motions that it could make sense but isn’t going to happen.

Only to idiots. I paid MSRP for my RS and it was the 2nd allocation for the dealer.

Anyone who pays over MSRP for any car is a fool IMO.

I wish you could see what is going on at Polish GR facebook group at the moment - you'll have a good laugh. Basically every second/third post is an offer to sell dealer allocation or car available to pickup somwhere in the future at around 2,5-8k USD markup. Apparently dealers somehow managed to source additional cars lately (there was around 400 of them available at first for our market) from other markets so the bubble slowly starts to burst.
