This is the interior of GRMN boot: do you think the vents are still so effective? |

Those don't look that effective, but my experience is not with the GRMN car. My hood duct, along with many other aftermarket solutions work pretty well.

I didn't want to compete in any way, it was simply to justify my answer for this thread: wrapping is useful, but Toyota didn't consider it essential.

Imagine if in the frequent maintenance, part of it was " Re-secure exhaust wrap and replace worn wrapping if fraying or liquid/oil contamination is observed" They wouldn't wrap it because it's nonsense to ask a consumer to manage that level of detail on their car. Sometimes, a manufacturer will restrain on engineering in a fix for something if the inconvenience or expectation is too impactful on the end user.

I don't think I understood what you were referencing. I thought you were talking ducts.

Is the header on the 86 GRMN ceramic coated? If not, that would be very telling as far as what professionals think about heat/temps as it relates to the header..

Look at the GRMN Yaris, which is production, it's exhaust manifold has the steel heat sheilds Thermal control is a important part for longevity of soft parts in the engine bay of all production vehicles People dig the look of headers, covering their advertising platform with steel or a wrap would be like advertising a new set of light weight wheels, by showing a picture of the boxes

I think a mix of packaging and product are well called for; Nothing is worse than getting a great product with broken styrofoam and a blank box. Let me display the Enkei box in my garage to flex the purchase, and on my car to flex the implementation

The GRMN car isn't absolutely made by a tuner, but it's made in Toyota factory.
The one made by a "tuner" is the TRD 14R60; TRD is owned by Toyota now, but the car went to TRD garage and were modded. The 100 GRMN ones came out from factory, and all the parts are available in Toyota catalog. |

Yes I am aware I am pretty sure the header on the GRMN car is an HKS as well.
