Found an engine with a spun rod bearing for cheap. Taking a flyer that it will be rebuildable.

I've really missed having local meets as well. A couple of my friends said I did a better job organizing them in the South Bay than when my other friends took over as South Bay organizers, lol. So I'm thinking that once things calm down I'll have to step up and start organizing them again. Which, surprisingly, is kind of exciting. There are always fun people to meet at these and it's nice to welcome new people (as long as they're more mature and not the dumbass kids with popcorn tunes and shit).

So funny story, my bathroom lights blew out, so I ran to Target (good excuse for a night drive) to grab a pack of new bulbs.
I get home, replace the two bulbs in the bathroom, and within 5 minutes of turning my kitchen lights on to make a late dinner, the lights blow out there. Fortunately I got a 4 pack of bulbs, so I do have enough. The problem is that my apartment manager originally had told me for this particular light fixture and the hallway one, she wanted me to have her/her husband replace bulbs if they blow out. Thing is with COVID going on I'd rather not have them come in unless there's an emergency since they're a bit older and have an older relative (90 or so year old dude who also lives in the building), so I'm considering just DIY'ing it and taking the consequences, if any, whenever I move out. But I'm not a great home DIY-er so I'm hesitant to try removing the fixture (since I believe it's made with glass) in case it breaks... Any chance one of you home DIY-ers can help me identify the level of difficulty removing the fixture/housing so I can replace the bulbs? I see four screws on it, but they almost look like they're for the part of the fixture connected to the ceiling rather than the cover itself. I'm _hoping_ the cover itself can be unscrewed separately from the ceiling housing with the screws for bulb replacement but not entirely sure. This is the fixture:

Replace the burnt out bulb(s), put the globe back in place and carefully, barely snug, then back off each 1/4 turn the 4 screws up till they gently hold the globe in place. DO NOT put larger bulbs that were in there, in place. DO NOT try it while the globe is hot. DO NOT perform the operation while drunk. DO USE a step stool or step ladder NOT a kitchen chair to stand on. |

Those 4 screws sit in a groove in the globe. Just back them out with one hand while supporting the globe with the other, install is reverse of removal.

Ahhh, dang. I doubt I can do it. With my hand tremors I don't think I should trust myself to keep the globe steady enough while my 2nd hand is dealing with the screws. Welp.

Yea, I like lagers and pilsners. IPAs and stouts not so much. There are some good ales, but most brew pubs make mediocre ales at best. Every time I go to a brewpub it's the same thing: "what do you have for a lager guy?" " Well, our blond ale is the closest thing we have to a lager. " |

Everytime I search for it though I get a bunch of competitors. When it comes back in stock I'll post it.
