I was looking at just getting a smaller fan, but not sure if there's a major difference in 120mm cooler fans. Issue is i can't close the side panel with the included fan installed so right now only running 1 of the 2 140mm fans that came with the cooler.
I would prefer to stick with an air cooled set up, at least for now especially while parts are still harder to get. Also a little nervous with water cooling since this was my first build |

Don't be scared with water cooling. All in one aka AIO are just as simple. Just make sure your case can fit one. That's pretty much it. I did my first build two years ago and I went with an AIO. Zero maintenance.

If you're set on a slim air cooler, look into the Noctua NH-L9a

As others have said, all in one water coolers are just as easy to set up as air coolers. The pump unit is small and attaches to the CPU, and the radiator/fan just takes over a fan mount on your case. Most newer cases have thick enough fan mounting locations to support a radiator/fan combo.

Well, now you can get the mod bug for your PC lol. Think of it as a learning experience. Research is good for figuring out what to do, but truly learning why requires experience. CPU cooler interference is probably the hardest aspect of a build to predict so if that's the only issue you got out of your first build then you did pretty good.

i had some bad pc memory a while back once. it only caused problems in very specific games at different times. i replaced a $200 power supply because it seemed more voltage related than a bad memory sector-- like my graphics card was pulling more than my power supply could take...

So I followed the advice I got from the forums and changed my plans for the build. This is what I came up with, so far I've only purchased the case and motherboard, no rush on the rest of the stuff since I can't find a GPU anyways.
CPU:AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6 core SSD:Adata XPG Pro 1TB SSD Power: Corsair CX750 750W Fully modular Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H60 AIO RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B550 GPU I'm thinking maybe I'll get lucky and get my hands on a 3060ti. |

AIOs are passé. You need submersed mineral oil cooling.
